Events Impose a Dominant Focus
After 64 weekly editions (and a discrete audience reached, around 2,000 weekly readers considering all the different channels, the ‘niche’ of the topic, the absence of advertising interventions and the time stolen from the daily work for the editorial work), last week was the latest issue of the newsletter dedicated to innovation intelligence.
Investment analyzes and trends say that the markets are progressively moving to the Metaverse: corporate, governmental, supra-governmental, social and individual issues are moving with them.
Metaverse is an inflated buzzword that currently means very little: it is now first and foremost a domain (a paradigm) in the making, not an simply innovation.
The domain of the Metaverse is composed of different technologies, actors and dynamics: each of them is in an evolutionary phase and also the resulting complexity of the domain is currently only imaginable.
Almost certainly within two decades the Metaverse will be the new way to use the internet: how we get there remains to be written.
I think that intelligence, especially that which deals with innovation, must help develop dynamic scenarios to support decision-makers: chasing after buzzwords or hypes is not the job of intelligence analysts; contextualizing the phenomena and giving them the right weight instead is.
I therefore think that now is the time to focus my intelligence work on the Metaverse in a context in which, for the umpteenth time, even the tools available to the analysis process are undergoing a progressive but inevitable transformation.
