AI 2️⃣, the vagueness is the presence of fuzzy boundaries between categories. In theory (and logically) the use of AI should lead to the disappearance of vagueness. Processes for obtaining output, part of algorithms with the purpose, for example, of manipulating purchasing decisions or supporting justice, will not leave (and they already don’t leave) room for vagueness. The authors of this paper state that the problem could be solved by Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), a method for explaining the behaviors of AI systems. Elon Musk’s Robot, now that the media hype has quieted a few words about Optimus, the humanoid robot presented a couple of weeks ago by Elon Musk. It is true, Optimus: it is light years behind in functional performance compared to the competitors (industrial and humanoid); it doesn’t have a natural language interface; showed poor sensory aptitudes and no decision-making in unexpected areas; …, all this is true and, above all, it is true that Elon Musk did not present what, last year, he had promised he would have presented. We must not forget, however, that: Optimus is destined for massive production (and with prices appropriate to it), neither for niche nor for research purposes (such as competitors); Tesla is not a car factory but a robot factory, which has an adaptable know-how in getting people from A to B as well as assisting them with housework by a robot; the current Optimus was developed, precisely for the previous reason, in 7 months by the engineers; … . In other words, it is true that, as usual, Elon Musk first says (and promises) and then does but I would be careful with the negative considerations: the road is still long (15/20 years?) for a humanoid with the purpose of serving the humans as a sci-fi tv-series but I am not convinced that Tesla is not in the race to win, innovation intelligence
Industry 5.0, I don’t like all-encompassing labels on innovative phenomena: they are useful in retrospect but when the innovative process is in hype, or in progress, they can be misleading. This is the case of ‘Industry 4.0’ which now, due to a pandemic and geopolitics, has taken on very different connotations compared to the original one coined in Germany. Now is the time for ‘Industry 5.0’ to which we try to give a revolutionary content (in an industrial sense) that certainly does not have for now. From how it is described, it appears rather ‘Industry 4.1’ without anything revolutionary except the implementations of version 4.0 due, in fact, to the pandemic and to the changed geopolitical and geoeconomic frameworks, innovation intelligence by EU Directorate-General for Research and Innovation
